Hello and welcome to the attic! My name is Leah and since the arrival of the current pandemic in March of 2020, I have sarcastically referred to myself as, "The Therapist In The Attic." On a typical day, I run a busy and thriving private psychotherapy practice, a medical and mental health billing company, and also fulfill my role as "The Therapist In The Attic." Upon, the arrival of the current pandemic, I suddenly found myself conducting psychotherapy sessions through 100% Telehealth in a matter of days for the health, safety, and protection of myself and the amazing clients I serve. Having said that, now that I had other family members at home due to similar reasoning, my "new office" was on the finished third floor of my home, aka the attic. It was at this point, I jokingly referred to myself as "The Therapist In The Attic." When mentioning this to my fantastic clients, I would hear a little laugh or chuckle and definitely knew I was onto something!
Many of us are experiencing stressful and uncertain times. My goal is to help you re-imagine your life, shift your perception, focus on what you can do, and despite the stress and uncertainty, maybe laugh a little too.
When you really think about it, for a variety of reasons, we are all somewhat "stuck in the attic." My hope is to relate to the varied experiences many of us have been experiencing in these uncertain times. Through authenticity, a dash of humor, as well as a realistic and positive approach, we will work together to help you and those you care about navigate the unknown and the potentially dreaded experience of "Groundhog Day."
As a professionally trained, licensed, and experienced psychotherapist, I have the tools and understanding to help you to gain an increased sense of empathy and compassion for not only yourself, but others as well. It is through an almost magical shift in perception that one may be able to attain a renewed sense of self.
Committing to a healthier lifestyle is just that – a commitment, and it’s a big one that will take a lot of dedication. My commitment is to provide you with a break from the stress of our daily lives and be able to breathe and focus on oneself and their loved ones and not become caught up in the daily uncertainty and chaos of life.
